It's a new year, and I hope it's a happy one for you all, despite the horrors.

I always have found it odd that our whole energy and culture changes at the turn of the new year. We go from sumptuous feasts, hedonistic sloth, time off of work, and absolutely degenerate sleep schedules, to a hustle-and-grind expectation of "New Year, New Me" every year. I love a good resolution as much as the next guy, but it's always been a bit jarring to me.

So, I decided to make a comic about it! I'm thinking this could be the beginning of a series, illustrating the spirit and energy of each month. And on top of that, if I do say so myself, I think these character designs came out beautifully. I really tried to push myself to get experimental with shapes and proportions, and push the depictions of these characters from "oh that's a funny drawing of a guy" to "oh that's like, a demigod or spirit that is an EMBODIMENT of that month". Trying to go for a bit more abstract or out there compared to just another comic with my normal-ass mug featured in it.
