STLR Comics was started by a boy with a dream. And by “boy” I mean “30 year old man”. And by “dream” I mean “desperate and panicked desire to start a comics career”. So, here I am! My whole life, I have been making comics, starting by stapling together sheets of printer paper with crude drawings outlining the plot of my favorite video game of the week. I even made a comics site 20 years ago or so with my friends to try and start making comics together. Only the real OGs remember Bingo! Comics LLC (All rights reserved, patent pending).
To put it simply, I’ve always had a passion for the simplicity and joy and versatility that is the medium of comics. It’s a storytelling format that does so much more than just blend text and image. While sequential art and comics are practically as old as humanity & language itself (looking at you, Egyptians), it’s still being iterated on and experimented with to this day.
Now you might be saying to yourself “Wow, invoking the art and storytelling from a millennia-old civilization in the same website for your alien dick joke comics? That’s bold.” And sure, I could maybe, occasionally, possibly, allegedly be accused of hyperbole. A little bit. Sometimes. But all this to say. I’m really jazzed about these comics and stories, and I can’t wait to share them with you. If you’re even 1% as excited to read them as I am to write and share them, then I think we’ll get along just fine.
